Give Me the Time

Here’s a story, of a man I once knew.

He’d really like you, like I.

This man gave me a little piece of his life,

with his advice for mine

He said, so I kissed her, and I hit the open road.

I planned to be back real soon,

but the city takes you, the city turns you,

until all you know is new.

*Give me the time.

Give me all your time and I’ll hold it,

until you make a choice.

Give me your word.

Give me all your words,

and I’ll hold them, until you want them more.

I hope you’ve guessed that, the man in the story,

the man I tell of, is me.

I know now, home is where my heart is,

and that’s where it will always be.

So let me kiss you, I gotta head back to the city.

I plan to be back real soon you see.

Because I now that if it wasn’t for you,

it would have never been for me.

*

Come on, come on,

show me you’re still mine.

Come on, come on,

give me the time.

Come on, come on,

show me you’re still mine.

Come on, come on,

give me your time.

Give me your whole world,

and I’ll love you, even after you decide.

I’ll love you, even if I’m not right.
