Your Waves

You used to tell me,

“Boy you’re the only one that I see”

I would call you up at night,

Do you read me loud and clear?

I sang,

songs to you so full of me,

but you reconsidered the strong us.

I hope I never let you down again,

I’ll never let you down.

*Your waves they knock me off my feet,

I’ll never turn my back again to your sea,

Your water’s cold, your water’s cold

But I dive right in.

I wish I

could climb this mountain you seem so high

jump on down I’ll catch you,

or I’ll catch a cold before too long.

When I’m hanging head over the ocean,

see your reflection in the bottom,

it’s nice to know I had a friend.

*

But if you know me you know,

I’ve turned around.

If you know me you know,

I’m looking around for you.
